About Moyne Villa

A volunteer-run grassroots football club and community grounds in the heart of Headford.

Our story

From a hay shed to a community home

Moyne Villa Football Club was founded in 1977 and takes its name from Moyne Castle, on the Galway–Mayo border just north of Headford.

Through the work of generations of volunteers, players, coaches and supporters, the club has grown from its earliest days in a field into the football and community facilities enjoyed today.
